This is a match that screams five sets. s Tiafoe struggles away from the US on the red stuff, while Pablo Carreno Busta is a seasoned clay-court veteran but down on form and in the twilight of his career. Both enter this clash with plenty of gas in the tank, having navigated their opening fixtures in straight sets. 

Coming into the tournament, 11 of Tiafoe’s last 12 matches at the French Open had crossed the 38.5-game mark. Up against a wily operator and with plenty of desperation on either side of the net, this one should easily cover the spread on tennis betting apps.

Two Americans form our next French Open bet, with Jenson Brooksby taking on Sebastian Korda in the second round. Each went to four in their opening matches, and we are picking them to do so again here.

Korda is a notorious underperformer at Grand Slams, particularly in early rounds. Brooksby, meanwhile, has shown flashes of brilliance since returning from suspension earlier this year. We predict that Korda will get over the line, but a bet on this one being four sets leaves a little room for Brooksby to pull off an upset too.

Value bet: Fabian Marozsan vs Carlos Alcaraz preview

For those hunting juicier returns, tennis bookmakers have Fabian Marozsan at long odds to beat defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. 

Alcaraz has a track record of playing loose sets early in majors. To date in his short career, he has dropped 10 sets across the first two rounds of Grand Slams, six of which have come in the second round. Marozsan, on the other hand, is an upset merchant who frequently punches above his weight, with the world No.56 holding a 6-8 record against top-10 opponents.

The Hungarian already has one win over Alcaraz, and while we do not think he will add to his tally, a bet on him to win the first set at +500 looks like great value.
