The 2025 French Open quarter-finals for the men’s and women’s singles get underway this Tuesday in Paris. We preview each match and outline the best tennis picks — including a pair of +225 bets on the men’s action — using the latest odds from top bookmakers.
Lorenzo Musetti v s Tiafoe
Entering this year’s Roland-Garros with a losing record at the tournament, few would have expected s Tiafoe to make the last eight. And yet the American has done so without dropping a set, taking on Lorenzo Musetti in the quarters.
Expect Tiafoe to put up a good fight here — he leads the head-to-head against Musetti 3-2 — but fall in four sets. The Italian is simply too consistent off the ground to lose to Tiafoe in best-of-five. However, Tiafoe’s rock-solid backhand and propensity for the big stage should win him a set.
Tommy Paul v Carlos Alcaraz
Tommy Paul has historically punched above his weight against this year’s title favorite, Carlos Alcaraz. We think their meeting on Tuesday will be no different.
Tennis betting sites are giving Paul a generous 7.5-game head start, largely because of his two five-setters earlier in the tournament. But of their six meetings, only once has Paul not been within 7.5 games. Physically he is a beast — the American backed up those five-setters with a straight-sets rout of Alexei Popyrin — and he should push Alcaraz close.
Alexander Zverev v Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic has found form in the nick of time, winning eight matches in a row for the first time since his Olympic gold last year. His stiffest challenge yet awaits in the quarter-finals, though, with world No.3 Alexander Zverev up next.
For the superstitious, Djokovic and Zverev have alternated victories across their last six meetings, and the latter won their most recent clash. The Serbian superstar retired injured in that last one, however, and we know he has the ability to raise his level at will. This week has all the markers of a motivated Djokovic, which is why leading bookmakers have him as favorite to make the semi-finals.
Jannik Sinner v Alexander Bublik
Jannik Sinner taking on the 62nd-ranked Alexander Bublik is by far the biggest mismatch of the men’s quarter-finals, but we are tipping the Kazakh outsider to push the world No.1 more than expected.
While Sinner has raced past all of his opponents so far in straight sets, Bublik has a much bigger serve than anyone the Italian has faced so far. We do not expect Bublik to win, but a tiebreaker feels realistic — either initially, while Bublik is running on raw adrenaline, or later in the match, when nerves have dissipated and he is playing loose.
Aryna Sabalenka v Zheng Qinwen
There is a reason Aryna Sabalenka is priced right next to Iga Swiatek in French Open title betting. The Belarusian is the consummate professional on court and should have no issue swatting aside Zheng Qinwen in her next match.
The pair have played seven times, with the result going Sabalenka’s way on six occasions. Zheng’s only win came a few weeks ago in Rome, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the Chinese player has cracked Sabalenka’s code. Expect the women’s world No.1 to make amends for her recent loss and run through this clash for her sixth straight-sets win over Zheng.
Elina Svitolina v Iga Swiatek
Iga Swiatek came into Paris with uncharacteristically poor form but has steadied the ship well over the past week. She now takes on Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina for a spot in the last four — something we expect she will achieve.
Svitolina is a gritty fighter, however, as evidenced by her saved match points against Jasmine Paolini in the round of 16. If Svitolina can dig deep again, there is good value across tennis betting apps in backing a Swiatek win in three sets.
Madison Keys v Coco Gauff
Madison Keys has played a lot of tennis this year and is due a flat performance. There is every chance Coco Gauff just rolls past her in an anticlimactic two sets in this all-American matchup.
Keys is also the kind of mercurial player that pulls out unexpected performances from time to time, regardless of who is on the other side of the net. To for this, back the match to be under 21.5 games — that way either scenario pays.
Mirra Andreeva v Lois Boisson
Speaking of one-sided affairs, it is hard to see Lois Boisson’s fairytale run continuing when she faces No.6 seed Mirra Andreeva.
Boisson rode the French crowd to a huge upset over world No.3 Jessica Pegula. However, Andreeva has looked much sharper on clay than Pegula, and the toll of bursting onto the scene is bound to impact Boisson. Expect the Russian favorite to take care of business and win in straight sets.
