Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings will both be chasing their first-ever title when they clash in the 2025 Indian Premier League Final this Tuesday night.
After finishing second in the regular season, RCB earned their spot in the decider with a dominant eight-wicket win over the Kings in last Thursday’s Qualifier. Led by three wickets apiece from Suyash Sharma and Josh Hazlewood, Bengaluru restricted Punjab to just 101 in 14.1 overs. In response, opener Phil Salt smashed an unbeaten 56 off just 27 balls, finishing the chase in only 10 overs.
RCB hero Virat Kohli has led from the front throughout the tournament, racking up 614 runs at an average of 55.81. Hazlewood (22 wickets), Krunal Pandya (15), and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (15) have also been pivotal with the ball.
After a poor showing in the Qualifier, the Kings bounced back on Sunday night with a five-wicket win over Mumbai Indians. Chasing a massive 204, Punjab’s charge was powered by Shreyas Iyer (87* off 41 balls), with key contributions from Nehal Wadhera (48 off 29) and Josh Inglis (38 off 21) as they sealed the win with six balls remaining.
Punjab finished the regular season at the top of the IPL table. Captain Iyer has been electric with the bat, scoring 603 runs at an average of 54.81. Other notable batters include Prabhsimran Singh (523 at 32.68) and Wadhera (354 at 32.18). With the ball, Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen have combined for 34 wickets, while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has added 15.
Following a dominant Qualifier win, RCB are unlikely to make many changes. Salt and Kohli will open the batting, followed by Mayank Agarwal, captain Rajat Patidar, and wicketkeeper Jitesh Sharma. Australian all-rounder Tim David is expected to return from a hamstring injury, likely replacing Liam Livingstone.
West Indian all-rounder Romario Shepherd and Krunal Pandya will bolster the lower order. The bowling attack will be led by Kumar, Hazlewood, and Yash Dayal, with Suyash Sharma expected to be the impact player.
The Kings are expected to stick with the same lineup from Sunday. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh will lead off, with Inglis, Iyer, Wadhera, and Shashank Singh comprising the middle order.
All-rounders Marcus Stoinis and Azmatullah Omarzai offer depth with both bat and ball. Vijaykumar Vyshak, Kyle Jamieson, and Arshdeep Singh round out the playing XI, with Chahal likely serving as the impact sub.
Based on their convincing win in the Qualifier, it’s no surprise that RCB are favorites in this matchup. They hold a significant edge in bowling, and the presence of Virat Kohli in a high-stakes final is a major factor. With extra rest between games, back RCB to clinch the title at -117.65 with Stake.com.
Josh Hazlewood has been one of the standout bowlers this season. He’s taken multiple wickets in four of his last five matches and has six wickets across his three appearances against the Kings. At +205 with Nags.bet, he is excellent value to lead RCB’s attack once again.
Josh Inglis has finished the IPL season strongly, scoring 30 or more runs in four of his last five innings. He is a dangerous hitter during the powerplay and scored 38 just two days ago on this same pitch. At +115 with Stake.com, back Inglis to make another solid contribution.
